THE ROYALS

Established in 2017, The Complete Footballer was launched with the purpose of offering elite quality training for all age groups and levels. As results were hugely positive, the need for a team setup was becoming more and more pressing. In 2018, TCF started the Limitless Football programme. This setup consisted of 16 development players from the surrounding areas, who were looking to train seriously and take their football to the next level. Training was run out of Delta Park School, with a few players coming from the school. 

In 2019 the programme evolved into The Complete Footballer’s Elite Player Programme and moved over to Steyn City School. A hugely successful season and exponential member growth saw the programme transformed into one of Johannesburg’s premier footballing setups. Our long term plan had been realized a lot sooner than expected and in 2020 Gold City Royals Football Club was born.

The name Gold City pays homage to our rich and cultural history of Johannesburg. We call ourselves the Royals as we pride ourselves on superior standard of football and people we develop. Gold City Royals is a modern, dynamic football club with the intent of bringing football to a new level in Johannesburg and South Africa. Our passionate and multi-talented staff have led to the building of a very strong club structure.

Our mix of experience on a local and international level ensures our players are always at the forefront of development and are training at an international standard. Many of our staff are internationally licensed and are constantly pushing to develop themselves further.

Our major goal is to develop our young players to an elite level, and help pipeline opportunities to further their own football careers into the larger leagues. In doing this, we further the game's status and repute beyond the mountains. As a Club we aim to compete through the ranks and ultimately play in South Africa’s top flight of Football, The Premier Soccer League (PSL). This will be possible with the help of a strong community support and corporate sponsorship.

The club currently caters to players aged 8 - 17 years old. The club offers football for players at every level, with our Elite Player Programme being the top tier offering for players. Gold City Royals FC works closely with our parent company The Complete Footballer, who designed and run the current Elite Player Programme. This means our players have access to private training, training clinics and to exclusive events.

Gold City Royals FC is the most progressive football club in the Johannesburg, and we call Steyn City School home.

We aim to build a strong culture within the club. We are working to build a culture of friendship, tolerance and equality. Football should be for life and we are pushing to have a setup that will cater to everyone and offer a positive space for the servants to our beautiful game.
