Age U7 - U10
Training The Fundamentals
These players train twice a week, with a focus on building a base technical skillset, as well as to improve motor skills and coordination. Players generally rotate through every position throughout the course of any given season, as to get an understanding and a feel for the game. Players are having as much fun as possible, while learning the core skills. Small sided games (SSG's) are run as often as possible.
Age U11 - U15
Training To Develop
These players move on to training 3 times a week from U15. This load-intensive training requires players to start more physical preparation and conditioning. Players start to identify certain positions and team roles and start working in those positions to develop further. Players have a good basic technical base and now move into more advanced technical training. Basic tactics are introduced to challenge players and create problem-solvers.
Age U16+
Training To Compete
Players at this point are accustomed to training 3 times a week, with competitive games now becoming the focus. Players are technical proficient and therefore focus more on tactical development and team strategy. The training load increases and the games frequency as well. Players are training as adults and preparing for potential opportunities outside of the club. Now elite level athletes are being developed.

Training For A Career Path
These players are training with the goal of using football as a potential stepping stone to greater things. Whether they are looking to go professional, use football to further their education in the form of scholarships and bursaries, or to simply train as an elite level athlete. These athletes have bespoke training programs, nutrition plans and private sessions outside of their normal club activities. These players are actively living a footballers lifestyle and train 4/5 times times a week. These players attend international showcases and get exposed to as much football as possible. Players aged 13+

A Bright Future for All
ALEX ROYAL TIGERS FOOTBALL CLUB
Gold City Royals FC has a partnership with Alex Royals Tigers FC. This development setup runs out of Alexandra township in Johannesburg South Africa. Unfortunately due to the economic climate in the country, many talented players struggle to get get into teams outside of the townships and are thus forced to remain in sub par footballing environments. This leads to a lack of development and a loss of quality players over time.
Our partnership with Alex Royal Tigers FC aims to help provide better footballing opportunities to talented players in need, and also build a balanced development framework. This ensures diverse playing styles within each team and also ensures we have very competitive teams within each division.
Gold City Royals FC subsidizes the transport and training fees for these players. Each team has between 3-4 development players in their ranks. Currently our model aims to have 1 in every 4 players as a development player.While we can't help everyone, we do our best to help those as best we can. We welcome philanthropic individuals to support our players wherever possible.
DIEPSLOOT
Diepsloot is a vibrant and buzzing township in Johannesburg. It sits on the edge of Steyn City and is where we source a good amount of quality players. Gold City Royals FC subsidizes the players training fees and looks to provide the players with quality training and opportunities that they would not have otherwise had access to. We are currently looking to partner with looking for a development setup within the Diepsloot area, to expand the pipeline of quality players we produce.
ONE10SPORT
One10Sport is a youth development setup based in Cape Town. They offer an academy, college , agency and a direct link to the Scottish FA's coaching structure. Gold City Royals FC utilizes One10Sport for our coaches education and aim to have all our coaches qualify through the Scottish FA.One10Sport and Gold City Royals FC also have a partnership in place whereby we refer business in the areas where are located to each other.
